Hugo el Buho – Hugo the Owl

I find owls so cute, they have something special, maybe their eyes?  I searched for inspiration on the net and found lots and lots of lovely owl patterns, I wanted something big, pillow size and after some search I came with this:

I chained an x number of chains, calculating the width I wanted for the head and when I was happy i joined in the round, then crocheted in half double crochet up to the half of the size of the pillow;  then started to decrease each 15 stitches; then each 14, 12, 10, etc. and stopped until the width I wanted for the bottom.

For the eyes and wings I did flat circles  and the nose was crocheted in sc, with x chains to achieve the width and then doing decreases in the beginning of each row and finally a round of sc all the way with 3 stitches on the corners.

Crocheted with almost 3 skeins of Noro Kureyon in shade 188 and scraps of alpaca and baby alpaca yarns.

Matrioska pillow – Doushka the Russian Doll

I found a tutorial to sew this adorable Russian Doll (http://bunnymummy-jacquie.blogspot.com/2011/02/cuddly-russian-doll-tutorial.html)  It is hand sewed and decorated with appliqué flowers.  Just looking at her makes me smile.  My husband said she needs to have a name and he named her Doushka.

 

Valentine’s Bunting

I crocheted this little heart bunting to decorate for Valentine’s day.  The pattern is from Julia Crossland’s blog:  http://juliacrossland.blogspot.com/2010/03/teeny-tiny-heart-bunting.html   I love how it looks!

 

Blanket that rocks

I started to knit this blanket at the end of September, 2011.  I was very excited about the yarn “Sock that Rocks” since it was my first time knitting with it.   I love the way the colors blend which other, the colors are very bright and the stitch definition is great.  The pattern is Zig and Zag Sock Yarn pram baby blanket by Debbie Orr (free at Ravelry).

I cast on 179 stitches and used 48 mini skeins of yarn (10 gr. each) – a total of 480 gr. of yarn.

Chinese Book for sewing toys

A dear friend brought me this book from Taiwan.  The author is Chen Chun-Chin and has lots of model and templates to sew toys.

Copihue-Neckwarmer – Test Knitting

I tested this lovely pattern for May Cheang Designs (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/copihue-neckwarmer). 

A very nice way to try Tunisian crochet.  I used1 ball of Noro Silk garden in shade 225

 

 

 

 

 

Tsuwano Faux Infinity Cowl – Test Knit

This is a test knit for Rope Knits – Sarah Barbour.  A lovely infinity cowl that can be used as a loop or wrapped around the neck.  Pattern is for sale at Ravelry.

Yarn is fingering baby alpaca, knitted with 3.5 mm needles.

Copito the bunny

A little white bunny.  The pattern is by Debbie Bliss.  It is knitted in cotton and his sweater is knitted with Noro yarn.

Baby Rose

This is baby Rose, I used the Old-Fashioned Teddy Bear by Twins but wanted a girly version, so added soft colors and a pink bow.
